Bert Ebeling reported that all CNY Region refreshers are complete and all went well.
He reminded everyone that all Refreshers must be registered with NSP by the Instructor of Record.
He also reported that there are three OEC courses underway in the CNY Region.
He encouraged people to attend the Senior Programs as they are the "training ground" for positions in the Regions & Divisions.
A question came up about what is the purpose of the Senior Program. Noel said it is not the same as in the past. It is a merit program working with national criteria. Burt said the reason to participate is to "become the best you can be".

Noel said we should be encouraging patrollers to participate. They will gain confidence and experience. It is a super program. They will gain a lot and have fun.
Instructor Development – Noel Rios
The new Instructor Development (ID) course is a self paced CD based course. It has 10 chapters and a final exam. The final phase is mentoring.
The ID course can also be presented in the classroom, as in the past, if there is enough interest.

Awards & History – Jeff Paston
Jeff said his overall goal is to have at least one award per patrol
Local patrols should also develop their own means of patroller recognition.
Don’t forget to recognize the spouse’s of patrollers.
Jeff said the CNY Region History was compiled in 1982 and 1984. Some updating has been done but he needs more information from all patrols in the Region. At a minimum he needs a list of Patrol Leaders, list of National Appointments, and a list of Awards (National, Division, Regional, etc.). Contact Jeff with this information at: Tel: 315-682-8144 or e-mail:
Jeff will distribute the CNY Region History and it will be posted on the Web-site.
